Google Wave is cool enough, but is it useful?

Posted by: Philip In: Google| Internet

Its been a few weeks and I now have a few friends populated in Google Wave.  When I first received my invite, it was me, myself and I – ok, that’s just one person – on Wave.  I had to turn to the in:public search option to find any waves to try out the service.
My [...]

Overnight, I received my Google Wave invite.  So far, no one I know has a Wave account, I’ve sent out a few invites and hopefully later today, I can begin riding the Wave.  More soon…

Anniversary passed without notice

Posted by: Philip In: Everything Else| Internet

Yesterday marked a milestone for me.  I signed on with this blog exactly one year ago yesterday, and I missed my anniversary.  It was only today that I noticed that my archives extended back to August 2008 and when I clicked in, found that my first post went live on August 4.

What’s missing in Chrome OS?

Posted by: Philip In: Google| Internet

Following up on my earlier post about Chrome OS, I got to thinking.  Google has GMail for email, Talk for chat, Google Docs for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations, and a slew of other cloud based apps.  But what is missing from their portfolio and therefore missing in Chrome OS?  I know we don’t know [...]

I guess I should back up.  When [...]

Busy, busy all the time

Posted by: Philip In: Everything Else| Internet

And now, a post about nothing…..
Its finally happened.  I missed  a day in Google Reader… I didn’t read any of my news today.  I never got caught up enough at work to actually have time to take in the news.  I also didn’t have time to read much of my personal email during the day.   [...]

Best Buy aquires Napster? What are they thinking?

Posted by: Philip In: Internet

Chalk it up to things I don’t understand, but Engadget reports the Best Buy is aquiring Napster for $121 million.  Read for yourself…  I definitely don’t understand why Best Buy would want to get into this business.   Partner with Rhapsody, yeah maybe, but buy Napster – what are you thinking?

Google Chrome first impressions

Posted by: Philip In: Internet

Its been a couple days of using Google’s new browser Chrome here in the office.  For the most part, I run my Gmail and Google Reader in it and it works great.   For other sites, like Facebook, its not doing quite as well.
To start with the positive, the browser’s minimalist design is very nice. [...]
